When we launched the smarticular.net website four years ago, we could never have imagined that the smarticular concept would develop into such a tremendous, lively community. With the smarticular.net ideas portal for simple, sustainable living, we are now reaching millions of people – and this is increasing by the day. There is one thing that unites us all and that is the belief that we can change something if we really want to. Sustainability in everyday living has many faces and is not that complicated: awareness in the use of resources, healthier, regional and seasonal foods, healthy, environmentally-friendly bodycare and cleaning products, sharing, donating, exchanging, recycling and upcycling, as well as a more conscious approach to your own environment – the aim always being to preserve the planets for our posterity.

Part of smarticular.net is the sustainability map, which is a small directory of packaging-free shops, borrowing shops and other facilities that promote more environmentally-friendly and sensible consumption. However, the map is rather limited in what it can do. To give these and various other sustainable consumption approaches more space, we have launched the Zero Waste Map. Everyone is invited to participate by entering new locations for the relevant categories, uploading their own images and exchanging ideas in the forum with other interested members.

The Zero Waste Map is under development and still has a long way to go! Should you notice any errors or have any suggestions with regard to which features we should integrate next, we would like to invite you to discuss your ideas in the relevant forum.
